12th STEP of the Dozen STEP Tiny Walk of life LECTURE BLOG™
The Eight Step Global Business Lecture Blog - 8SGBLB - is now opened.
THE OVERALL SERVICE NEEDS OF PROFESSIONALS*:
Admittedly, we are somewhere between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea on this one. Again we finally decided to put this particular lecture here because we needed to create an overall picture first. Again this SB LECTURE BLOG is short and sweet and followed by another critical AT HOME EXERCISE.
By putting all of the structures you should investigate in the 8th SB Lecture Blog, we felt we had to put all of business professionals like the legal, accounting and financial experts behind that. Actually the need is simultaneous so put the information together and formulate your strategic approach.
Professionals dont want to hear this, investigate the Do It Yourself aspect on some of this. Even as we understand the necessity, of having a professional assist you, we have all saved money on those things we could do ourselves.
Quite frankly you dont have to have lawyers and accountants for every little detail of your business. Save money, but remember this new version of an old caveat Even in this 21st century, dont be a fool who has fallen so in love with your idea, that you think you can represent yourself in all things business. If you are that professional (lawyer, accountant, bookkeeper, whatever), we are still talking to you.
Here we see ourselves run the risk of being hated. But both the advent of technology where major public databases and the resulting governmental agencies that are here to serve us, have moved us into this Do It Yourself era we want you to allocate your money where you need to, so you can stretch that dollar.
Even though some learned well intended professionals are just not needed for every little common sense chore - dont blame us. Blame computer technology, word processing, electronic data transfer and even the
municipalities and the FEDS.
Start your inquiries at your local courthouse. You can check on the web in most cities, other places that are still coming into the 21st century may require an actual trip to the courthouse.
Remember, the FEDS rule the STATE and the STATE rules the county and so. Know your governing and the requirements of the rules to which you must legally adhere.
We hope you have now been to all of the sites we have recommended, which means you should now be familiar with how much the FEDS allow you to DO YOURSELF.
Follow the specific instructions given now and take the weight on yourself if you make a mistake. If you would rather just pay somebody because you feel you might do something foolish just investigate who will be glad to take your money.
You sometimes need professionals who understand that you need to save money and or not just trying to charge you to pay their overhead.
In our discussions we feel that a professional who is about your success will possibly recommend, software programs, steps in carrying out a Do It Yourself procedure, and/or other things to save you money and will offer to check your work and only do those things which absolutely require their expertise. This is good business because they can still get a loyal customer out of the deal for the really complicated stuff.
Dont be intimidated just because someone may know something you dont. Its your money, so interview several professionals in your particular area, before you choose one. Keep in mind a professional just starting out and/or in a small operation might be hungry for your business and hopefully more attentive.
On the other hand a professional in a major operation might can get you what you need faster because they have the contacts, but you might be assigned a junior partner and never see the big guys anyway.
Either size firm may even do some pro bono work for their own tax credits, but as professors let us just say here dont always go looking for the free stuff. We find it somewhat annoying when students always think they are going to get extra credit for every little thing. It just doesnt work like that.
Pro bono usually goes hand and hand with a REALLY potentially lucrative idea. Well, do you have one?
We do recommend this make whoever you hire work for your money. They may have more or different educational experiences than you, but remember, you have the same amount of grey and white matter and convolutions in your brain and you are the customer.
Forget bartering with them. Unless the professional is a VERY close friend or relative and you can offer something they need you have nothing to offer. Suggesting you get their professional in exchange for a piece of your intended action, can be considered a conflict of interest, and may end badly.
Finally, be adamant while being polite. You will save yourself money by having your needs and questions organized before you go on the clock so to speak. We do advise that on areas where you are not certain or clear on a procedure or requirements that you seek second opinions from the professional BEFORE you need them.
We warn you getting overly impressed with trying to handle everything yourself may find you making major mistakes and then having to spend more money than you would have if you had gone on and used qualified professionals in the first place.
Now put this and the previous Lecture Blog together and handle your business.
